KINGSGATE, REDHILL

Exceptional use of crittall for engineering firm 48.3

When Red River Interiors were awarded the contract to build new offices for progressive engineering business 48.3 Scaffold Design, they needed a specialist glazing company to interpret the design and Ocula Systems met that criteria.

48.3 Scaffold Design, founded by Ben Beaumont, set out in 2011 to revolutionise their industry and they have done just that, designing the scaffolding for largescale prestigious refurbishment projects throughout the UK with an unsurpassed passion and technical expertise. Their new Redhill HQ not only had to cater for a growing team of engineers and designers but provide an environment to reflect and enhance their creative work.

The office layout, designed by Sketchpad the architect, was a real broken plan design using large scene wall covers, bright spot colours, timber screens and on trend dark framed office and meeting room partitions with a difference.

The partitions were designed with an irregular abstract privacy pattern to great effect, what is known in the trade as ‘Raked Banding’. Red River Interiors is an experienced workspace provider based in Horsham and they were selected by the architect as the contractor for this project.

Red River invited Ocula Systems to attend the initial design meeting with their estimator, site surveyor, technician and glass fitting team and they recommended Ocula FS25 single glazed partitioning as the most suitable for the specification and to work with the pre-selected Fyotto framed doors.

TESTIMONIALS

“We knew that to achieve the raked banded design on the partitions we needed assistance from a specialist partitioning company. Ocula Systems had the technical knowledge to assist us and the result perfectly reflects the design.”

Red River

“It was important that our new office reflected our ethos. The result is a perfect place for our team to create very different scaffolding designs to support the industry. The partitioning, displaying this irregular abstract banding is a stunning design feature within the office and I am delighted with the result.”
